A long warranty headline says little unless you know who provides it, what it covers and how a claim works.
Separate legal rights from commercial warranty
For qualifying consumer purchases in the EU, legal rights against the seller and an additional manufacturer warranty are not the same. The EU’s consumer guarantee guidance states that commercial guarantees cannot reduce the minimum legal protection. Country rules and business purchases may differ, so confirm the applicable contract locally.
Identify every responsible party
Write down the seller, manufacturer, installer and service company. Ask who diagnoses a fault, who authorises parts and who pays labour and travel. If different companies supply and install the system, define responsibility for proving whether a fault is in the product or installation.
Read the coverage, not just the duration
Check whether the compressor, electronics, pumps, controls, cylinder and accessories have different terms. Look for limits on labour, travel, refrigerant, removal, replacement and consequential work.
Understand maintenance conditions
Some commercial warranties require registration, installation by an approved professional and scheduled servicing. Record deadlines, acceptable service providers and documents to retain. Do not accept a condition that is explained only after delivery.
Test local service capability
Ask for the reporting channel, service hours, typical initial-response process and the location of qualified technicians. “European support” does not necessarily mean local attendance. Ask how critical parts are stocked and what happens if a model is discontinued.
Put the promise in durable form
Keep the quotation, contract, commissioning record, serial numbers, warranty statement and service history. Ask for promised coverage and exclusions in writing. Compare offers on practical remedy—not merely years printed in a brochure. Ask Thermovo to define equipment and support responsibilities.
Before requesting a project quotation
| Check | Information to prepare |
|---|---|
| Project scope | State the country, project type, operating conditions and required delivery date. Identify which decisions still need an installer or designer. |
| Topic-specific evidence | written warranty coverage and a local service arrangement |
| Responsibility and acceptance | Record who supplies, installs, commissions and services the equipment. Ask which documents and checks are included, and confirm exclusions in writing. |
This checklist helps define a request; it is not a model performance claim, installation design or promise of availability.
